Jamaica in the roots, Atlanta in the motion. Odane Gibson moves through Afrobeat, reggae, and R&B with records built on feeling, intention, and replay value.
I’m Odane Gibson, known as Ogvybe. Born and raised in Jamaica and now rooted in Atlanta, my sound reflects both worlds: the raw spirit of the islands and the elevated pulse of the city.
What I create lives between Afrobeat, reggae, and R&B, but it goes deeper than genre. It is feeling, vibration, and storytelling layered with intention. I’m not chasing trends. I’m building a sound that feels timeless.
My journey has seen struggle, doubt, pressure, faith, love, ambition, sacrifice, and growth. Music became the outlet that turned pain into purpose, and every record carries part of that story.
I’m also a creator beyond the music. The branding, the sound design, the visual atmosphere, the live experience, all of it matters. This is not just about songs. It is about legacy. This is more than music. This is Ogvybe.
In the feature, Odane Gibson shares that music started at home through his father. Being raised around someone who sang every day made music feel natural from the beginning, and that early foundation shaped how deeply he connects to sound.
He also describes his music as fusion music, drawing from Jamaica’s deep musical lifeline and blending influences like reggae, R&B, hip-hop, disco, pop, and more into one sound that does not sit in only one category.
